Our bedroom is the space we begin and end each day. It’s the space we wake-up to and scroll the morning news (and/or Instagram), lazily drink our weekend coffees, read our favorite books and above all, rest – only to do it all over again the next day. With that, it’s important to make it a place we love being in. To help, we’ve created a list of tips for selecting the right pieces, while maintaining a much-needed personal touch!
Choose the right bed
Your bed is one place you spend a considerable amount of time every day, so make sure it’s comfortable.
Upholstered vs. Wood
Things to consider: do you like sitting up and reading in bed? Could your bedroom benefit from some sound absorption (think concrete floors and vaulted ceilings) if so, consider an upholstered bed, like our Cello or Bento, for instance. If the look of a wood frame better complements your needs and space, try our Marcel, or Reclaimed Teak Beds, Boom Bed-Storage-Drawer, or Ora Beds.
Make it cozy
Invest in quality bedding. Moncton Duvet Set or the Acadia Duvet Set are much more luxurious and last through more washes. Feel like you’re at a fancy hotel every time you hit the sheets. Add a foot warming rug near the end of your bed to create a casual and inviting feel. We like the Husky rug for its warmth and coziness. A great neutral shade can help transform your space with texture and functionality.
Don’t skimp on storage!
It’s easy to let things pile up in your bedroom – there’s nothing worse than coming home to a room littered with outfit options. Invest in some functional and beautiful storage pieces like our Marcel Double Dresser, Marcel Single Dresser for extra blankets, and sweaters and the Strand Magazine Table for books and magazines.
Take a seat
If you have the room use it. Bring a functional chair into your room for reading. To get the best sleep you should reserve your bed for what it’s meant for.
Try the Lyla Side Chair which is perfect for chair exercising or placing your extra reading collectables by the bed. Introduce some light for nighttime reading. We can’t get enough of Verve Table/Floor Lamp.
